Cosmology

The end of all things

EndCosmos takes place in the final moments of the universe. Almost nothing is left, and that is exactly why every light matters.

01

The Long Night

The present era. A sky that is almost entirely black.

The last stars went out eons ago. The few lights still visible are dying black dwarfs, Embers and the cities huddled around them. Cold and silence are the rule; light is the exception.

02

The First Cosmos

The universe that existed before this one.

Before the Big Bang there was another universe. Only two things remain of it: the Embers and the Architectures, impossible structures that defy the laws of present-day physics, which no one has ever managed to build or destroy.

03

The Embers

Amber crystals of light holding energy older than the Big Bang.

They power ships, cities and bodies. They are the only currency that matters. Every Ember remembers fragments of the First Cosmos, and those who carry one for long begin to dream of places that never existed in this universe.

04

The Ash

What remains when an Ember burns out.

A grey mist that erases matter and memory. It does not destroy: it unmakes. A world covered in Ash is not left in ruins but forgotten, as if it had never been. And it is spreading.

05

The Last Ember

The only living Ember.

Unlike all the others, it does not burn down: it grows. The Vigil's legends speak of a light capable of starting a new Big Bang. No one knows what will happen if someone uses it. Everyone wants to decide.
